The dough of this sweet bread is made with soft fine flour, sugar, butter, eggs and milk as well as yeast, salt, cinnamon and ginger syrup. After a short fermentation of 2-3h, the bread is shaped to be baked in a tin. At this point, large chunks of sugar are folded into the dough.
Traditionally, this bread was presented to women who had just given birth to a girl, while a raisin/current bread was gifted to women who had just given birth to a boy.
